What is

EarliPoint?

The EarliPoint Evaluation is an FDA-cleared tool that helps clinicians diagnose and assess autism in young children. Your child sits comfortably and watches short video scenes of other children playing while the device measures where they look, many times per second.

Those measurements are compared against age-expected patterns to show whether a child is missing key moments of social learning. The result is objective data a clinician uses alongside caregiver interviews and developmental history.

Important

EarliPoint does not make the diagnosis. It gives the clinician objective measurements. A qualified provider reviews the results with you and makes the diagnostic determination.

Objective, Not Subjective

Eye-tracking captures looking behavior that is reliable to measure and difficult to mask.

Short And Non-Invasive

The average evaluation takes about 15 minutes, making it a short and comfortable experience.

Built For Young Children

No instructions, no verbal demands — just watching videos. Designed to support even the youngest children being evaluated.

Results & Next Steps

You review the findings and written report with a clinician and leave with clear recommendations, including a recommendation for ABA therapy if deemed appropriate.

Screening vs. Diagnosis

Know which step

you’re on.

Not sure which step comes next? Start with the description that best reflects where your family is today. The first two options are screenings that can flag developmental concerns but do not provide a diagnosis. The EarliPoint Evaluation gives a qualified clinician objective information to consider as part of a broader autism evaluation and diagnostic decision.

M-CHAT-R

16–30 Months

A 20-question checklist that a parent completes about their toddler’s behavior. It is free, takes a few minutes, and identifies children who may benefit from a full autism evaluation.

Developmental Screening

9, 18, 30 Months

Routine screenings at your pediatrician to assess language, movement, behavior, thinking, and emotion. If your child’s screening raises questions about development, your pediatrician may recommend a more complete autism evaluation.

EarliPoint Evaluation

16 Mos–7 Yrs

A clinician-led autism evaluation through EarliPoint Health. Your child watches brief video scenes while the system captures objective eye-tracking data that a qualified provider uses alongside developmental history and other information to make a diagnostic determination.

Why It Matters

A diagnosis

opens doors.

Autism can often be identified by 16 to 24 months, but the average child is not diagnosed until close to age four. Early detection can give families more time to understand their child’s needs and explore early intervention, therapy, school-based support, and other options that may be appropriate for their child.

We Check Your Coverage First

Before anything is scheduled, our intake team verifies your benefits and tells you what to expect. We are in-network with most major plans across the states we serve, including Medicaid.

We will listen to what you are seeing, answer initial questions, and explain whether the EarliPoint evaluation process may fit your child’s age and situation. If it does, we will help you understand the next steps for insurance, scheduling, and the evaluation itself.

Helping Hands Family is partnering with EarliPoint Health to help families access autism evaluation services for children ages 16 months to 7 years old. Contact our intake team to discuss your child, review availability in your area, and learn whether this evaluation pathway may be a fit for your family.

Our intake team can explain whether a referral is needed based on your child’s situation and insurance coverage. Requirements can vary by health plan and location.

During the viewing portion of the evaluation, your child watches short video scenes while EarliPoint measures where they look. The viewing session takes about 15 minutes, and a clinician also reviews your child’s developmental history with you. We will explain the full process and what to expect before your appointment.

A qualified clinician performs the evaluation and makes the diagnostic determination. EarliPoint is not an autism diagnosis test that results in a diagnosis. It just provides objective measurements that the clinician reviews alongside your child’s developmental history and other relevant information. The clinician will review the findings and the written report with your family

No, completing an evaluation does not obligate your family to begin ABA therapy with Helping Hands Family. If ABA therapy is recommended and feels like the right next step, we can help you understand your options. Your family can take the time you need to decide what support is right for your child.
