How It Works

How ABA therapy in MD works.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a fun and evidence-based autism treatment. It breaks down complex skills into smaller, manageable steps to make learning more achievable and rewarding. The clinical team at our Maryland ABA clinics includes:
Every plan is built around three core elements:
1

Child-Led Sessions

Therapy follows your child’s interests to maximize engagement and participation.
2

Play-Based Learning

Toys and games are the tools, and the skills are developed through purposeful, structured play.
3

Positive Reinforcement

Every step forward is celebrated to build confidence and establish habits that last.
Early Intervention in MD

Why starting early matters.

Early intervention through HHF is available for children starting at age 2, when early learning and development are especially important. Through early intervention, we start ABA therapy early to increase the likelihood of progress and development, focusing on the communication, motor, and social skills that lay the foundation for future success.

Our Comprehensive Day Program is the perfect alternative to traditional preschool or daycare, established to help children with autism thrive before kindergarten. We use play-based ABA therapy in the clinic, up to 5 days per week as needed. Starting autism services early helps children develop:

Communication and expressive language skills

Social interaction and peer connection

Behavior regulation and daily independence

School readiness across key developmental areas

Insurance Coverage

Insurance for ABA in MD.

Families benefit from state-mandated autism insurance coverage, and our ABA therapy services in Maryland are in-network with most major plans accepted across our clinics. Our Care Coordination Team is ready to help you navigate your coverage and take the stress out of the process.
We also accept Maryland Medicaid as a secondary insurance, which covers the cost of care completely for most of our MD clients. For families with other coverage, we can also discuss out-of-network options.
